Mokumé gané is a fascinating and intricate metal working technique that involves the meticulous layering of various coloured metals together within a single billet. Venetia then manipulates these billets through a variety of methods, including twisting, forging, drilling, hammering, and rolling, to skillfully reveal the layers hidden within. Venetia also utilises the process of acid etching, which removes the surface reaching silver, showcasing more of the radiant gold layers beneath. This technique not only enhances the visual appeal of the piece but also imparts a beautiful topographical feel, making each item truly unique and captivating.
